This movie gives us the origins of Jack Ryan. It migh surpass your expectations if you expect an average spy action/thriller. Jack Ryan does not have many action scenes, as he uses more of his intellect than his fists. Still, there are quite a few action scenes that come as a surprise. The exposition parts of the story are at times boring, but when Jack Ryan is doing his mission, it doesn't feel rushed, and it manages to constantly keep you in suspense. Despite following a predictable formula very closely instead of the source material, the movie still works as entertainment.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty LIFE!

The movie is funny, thought provoking, touching at times and startling at others, and entertaining throughout. It strikes an incredible balance between indy/art-house and Hollywood epic. The visuals in this film are particularly fantastic. From the New York offices of LIFE all the way to Iceland. Every scene is perfectly captured and beautiful. The pathos of the main character is well-captured in subtle ways. The acting is superb all around. Ben Stiller（ベン・スティラー）is perfect as Walter Mitty. If you are hoping to see him doing one of his usual humorous roles, you might be disappointed, but if you want to see him capturing the emotions of a man that has a hard time expressing himself, you will love it.
