Happy Halloween!!

During this Halloween season, I did "Book-Book Exchange" with Ms. Ryoko Sato, the Sato-Mama, who put all of her four children (three sons and a daughter) through Tokyo University Faculty of Medicine. In return for the picture books I translated, I got her beautiful latest book "100 habits to raise children to be studious" with a band wrapper saying "Don't lose to Corona"! Many many thanks for such a wonderful opportunity afforded by Tsuda University Alumnae Association. The image is a commemorative photo to celebrate our 5th Book-Book Exchange. The author, being a math teacher for 35 years in high school, also a mother of four children and grandmother of seven grandchildren, has written a lot of books for which she has taken advantage of her years of experience as a teacher and her rich experience with her children and grandchildren. This adorable gem is based on a real case, dedicated to all the wonderful "different" children, also a contribution to the eradication of the unpleasant phenomenon. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this book both in English and Japanese.

I came across the story of Mia and Lea through an article in which their parents were interviewed. This story is indeed based on a real case, but at the same time, I conversed with many other parents of children with special needs, and everyone, at some point during the conversation, noted an issue that bothers them deeply – the stares! The staring glances of passersby, asserting their opinions on their child - you are different! This story is dedicated to all those wonderful "different" children and is my humble contribution to the eradication of this unpleasant phenomenon.
