Could a Deaf Girl Sing? みみの ふじゆうな おんな の こ は うたえるの？

"Could a Deaf Girl Sing?" with my translation has been published this week. The author, being a math teacher for 35 years in high school, also a mother of four children and grandmother of seven grandchildren, has written a lot of books for which she has taken advantage of her years of experience as a teacher and her rich experience with her children and grandchildren. This adorable gem's purpose is to convey this message "Be curious, invest in learning what interests you, dream, aspire higher, and don't give up!" to children. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this book both in English and Japanese. 今週、翻訳いたしました『みみの ふじゆうな おんな の こ は うたえるの？』が出版されました。35年間、高校の数学教師として教鞭を取られてきた著者は、4児の母であり、7人の孫にも恵まれる祖母。長年の教師経験や子孫たちとの豊富な体験が活かされた作品が多く、本作は「好奇心旺盛であれ、興味がある分野の学習に投資せよ、夢を見よ、志を高く掲げよ、そして、諦めるな！」というメッセージを子供たちへ伝えるために書かれました。英語と日本語のバイリンガルで子供も大人もお楽しみいただければ幸甚です。

Let’s Learn Colors いろを まなぼう

"Let's Learn Colors" has been published with my translation this week. The author, being familiar with communal and educational activities and bibliotherapy, leads projects and workshops integrated with art. She has written lots of artistic and educational books, and in this "Let's Learn" series, she aims to expose the readers to a second language in an easy and fun way. English speakers will learn a few Japanese words. Japanese speakers will also learn a few English words and easy sentences that will give the feel of the beautiful sound of rhymes. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this adorable series which is suitable for both children and adults of all ages both in English and Japanese.

今週、翻訳いたしました『いろを まなぼう』が出版されました。社会や教育的活動、ビブリオセラピー（読書療法）にも精通した著者は、アートと一体化させたプロジェクトやワークショップの指導者。著書には芸術性や教育性の高いものが多く、この「まなぼう」シリーズは、読者の方々が容易に楽しめる方法で第二言語を紹介することを目指しています。英語を話す方々は日本語の単語をいくつか学べ、日本語を話す方々も英語の単語と美しい韻の音感を味わえる簡単な文をいくつか学べます。あらゆる年齢層の子供たちと大人たちに楽しんでいただける、こちらの可愛らしいシリーズを英語と日本語のバイリンガルで子供も大人もお楽しみいただければ幸甚です。

"Children's Holidays" has been published with my translation this week. The author, being familiar with communal and educational activities and bibliotherapy, leads projects and workshops integrated with art. She has written lots of artistic and educational books, and this book tells about a zoom class, where children, from different places, suggest ways to celebrate life and bring joy to the world. Corona’s time brought big challenges to everyone. But, it also opened new ways for communication and learning. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this adorable little gem which brings hope to the readers and encourages the children to think in a creative way both in English and Japanese.
