"Down Syndrome ≠ Giving Up Your Dreams" with my translation has been published this week. The author, being a math teacher for 35 years in high school, also a mother of four children and grandmother of seven grandchildren, has written a lot of books for which she has taken advantage of her years of experience as a teacher and her rich experience with her children and grandchildren. This adorable gem is based on a real case, dedicated to all the wonderful "different" children, also a contribution to the eradication of the unpleasant phenomenon. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this book both in English and Japanese.
今週、翻訳いたしました『ダウンしょうこうぐん ≠ ゆめを あきらめること』が出版されました。35年間、高校の数学教師として教鞭を取られてきた著者は、4児の母であり、7人の孫にも恵まれる祖母。長年の教師経験や子孫たちとの豊富な体験が活かされた作品が多く、本作は、好ましくない現象を根絶するために、実際に起こったことにもとづいて書かれた、すべてのすばらしい「違った」子供たちに捧げる一冊です。英語と日本語のバイリンガルで子供も大人もお楽しみいただければ幸甚です。

I came across the story of Mia and Lea through an article in which their parents were interviewed. This story is indeed based on a real case, but at the same time, I conversed with many other parents of children with special needs, and everyone, at some point during the conversation, noted an issue that bothers them deeply – the stares! The staring glances of passersby, asserting their opinions on their child - you are different! This story is dedicated to all those wonderful "different" children and is my humble contribution to the eradication of this unpleasant phenomenon.
