World's Little Friends ちきゅうの ちいさな おともだち

"World's Little Friends" with my translation has been published this week. The author, being a former deputy media advisor to Mr. Shimon Peres, a former Israeli president, during his tenure as a prime minister, also being a spokesperson at The Peres Center of Peace later on, is a mother of three children and a former journalist, and currently teaches English and journalism. Being in contact with children and understanding their joys and fears led her to start writing, and in this maiden work, she describes the importance of protecting the environment and appreciating the values of sustainability and minimalism, also a lesson in modesty and the choice between right and wrong especially for the people who are forced to act differently under this COVID-19 crisis. We sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this adorable little gem both in English and Japanese. 

今週、翻訳いたしました『ちきゅうの ちいさな おともだち』が出版されました。前イスラエル大統領シモン･ペレス氏の首相任期中に彼のメディア副顧問を務め、後にペレス平和センターのスポークスパーソンを務めた、元ジャーナリストで３児の母である著者は英語とジャーナリズムの指導者。子供たちとの交流を通じて彼らの喜びや恐れを分かち合うことがきっかけとなり執筆を始め、処女作となる本書では、とりわけコロナ感染症により行動を変えなくてはならなくなった人間たちが、環境を守ることの大切さに気づき、持続可能性と最小限主義の真価を認め、つつましさを善しとする、善悪をわきまえる上での大切な教訓が描かれています。英語と日本語のバイリンガルで子供も大人もお楽しみいただければ幸甚です。
