Director Todd Phillips（トッド・フィリップス）, known for his "The Hangover ハングオーバー!", comes out with "Due Date". This is an odd couple style of comedy which worked perfectly thanks to the two lead characters and the likable dog. Both Robert Downey Jr（ロバート・ダウニー・Ｊｒ）and Zach Galifianakis（ザック・ガリフィナーキス）, and Sunny the dog did an excellent job. Downey plays a would-be father who is forced to hitch a ride with a troubled idiot played by Galifianakis. Lots of crazy scenarios will entertain you during their cross-country road trip with not only their cruel jokes but also some heart and humor plus their quick and witty dialogues.

True Grit トゥルー・グリット

A remake of "True Grit 勇気ある追跡" in 1969. The '69 version was driven fully by Rooster Cogburn played by John Wayne（ジョン・ウェイン）yet the new version is truly driven by Mattie Ross played by Hailee Steinfeld（ヘイリー・スタインフェルド）. One of the upgrades from the original film was LaBoeuf portrayed by Matt Damon（マット・デイモン）. In the original, Glen Campbell（グレン・キャンベル）played a more cooperative LaBoeuf while Damon is more independent and clashes with Rooster more often but their chemistry is still believable and enjoyable. Loved the headstrong girl, Hailee Steinfeld so much.

He's Just Not That Into You そんな彼なら捨てちゃえば？

A pleasing boy-meets-girl film which depicts modern relationships covering just about all the realities in dating and marriage. It is extremely hilarious and utterly realistic. There is A likes B, but B likes C while C is married to D, which is always entertaining. The acting is faultless with Jennifer Aniston（ジェニファー・アニストン）, Ben Affleck（ベン・アフレック）, Drew Barrymore（ドリュー・バリモア）, Jennifer Connelly（ジェニファー・コネリー）, Brendan Cooper（ブラッドリー・クーパー）, Kevin Connolly（ケヴィン・コナリー）, Ginnifer Goodwin（ジニファー・グッドウィン）, Scarlett Johansson（スカーレット・ヨハンソン）, Justin Long（ジャスティン・ロング）,  Kris Kristofferson（クリス・クリストファーソン） and so on.

The Tourist ツーリスト

"The Tourist" stars Angelina Jolie（アンジェリーナ・ジョリー） and Johnny Depp（ジョニー・デップ）, two of the biggest stars in the world as a remake of a French film "Anthony Zimmer アントニー・ジマー" which starred Sophie Marceau（ソフィー・マルソー） and Yvan Attal（イヴァン・アタル）. It revolves around an American tourist, Frank, played by Johnny Depp, who is visiting Italy to mend a broken heart while a beautiful mistress of a mafia, Elise, played by Angelina Jolie, deliberately crosses Frank's path. We can enjoy the perfect trip (= the perfect trap) with its stunning scenery in Venice and the promising plot.

The Green Hornet グリーン・ホーネット

This film mixed a comedy into such fun action scenes superbly. It's not a classic main stream super hero movie but has its own storyline which is consistent, and the characters and situations are hilarious. I would like to see Cameron Diaz（キャメロン・ディアス） in 3D next time since I saw its 2D version this time. It's a nice movie if you want to relax and watch an easy entertaining movie.

Black Swan ブラック・スワン

Darren Aronofsky（ダーレン・アロノフスキー）'s "Black Swan" depicts obsession for beauty, fame, and perfection beautifully yet painfully. Its splendor is devoured by the ugly and harsh world of professional ballet. Nina Sayers, played by Natalie Portman（ナタリー・ポートマン）, must play both the sweet, innocent White Swan as well as her evil twin, Black Swan. She is suited for White Swan, but how she finds a way to evoke her inner evil Black Swan is a must-see. She is suffering from lots of troubles and affected physically and mentally, but the root of her troubles is her obsession for perfection, which is also a constant theme through the film.

Small Town Murder Songs スモールタウン マーダー ソングズ

Director Ed Gass-Donnelly（エド・ガス＝ドネリー）made artful and stylistic choices in "Small Town Murder Songs" successfully. It centers on Walter, played by Peter Stormare（ピーター・ストーメア）, a middle-aged police chief with a violent past who is trying to reset his life yet being challenged as he starts investigating the brutal and violent murder of a young woman. Suffering from his past and the mistrust of the community, also being complicated by his ex lover, Rita, played by Jill Hennessy（ジル・ヘネシー）, and her current boyfriend, he tries hard to solve the crime. As he gets involved deeper into the crime, his newly performed life starts to be threatened again. Its 75-min running time makes us feel it is certainly a rare film that feels short, which might be said courageous in the film industry.

The King's Speech 英国王のスピーチ

Such a powerful moving biopic that depicts how King George VI overcame his stuttering problem (thanks to the deep friendship between him and his speech therapist) and found his voice to courageously lead his people into the most devastating war. Colin Firth（コリン・ファース）was excellent as King George VI, and his speech therapist, Geoffrey Rush（ジェフリー・ラッシュ）was fantastic as well. Helena Bonham Carter（ヘレナ・ボナム＝カーター）shined as Queen Elizabeth as always, and so did Guy Pearce（ガイ・ピアース）as King Edward who abdicated his throne for an American divorcée. Cheers to director Tom Hooper（トム・フーパー）'s masterpiece.

Morning Glory 恋とニュースのつくり方

This film proves anything could happen if we work hard and really want it. It brings not only a comedy but also the beautiful emotional story of a girl who realizes her dream of being a television producer and creates a family in the process by pulling everyone together against the odds. The chemistry between the impressive cast is the movie's redeeming quality. Rachel McAdams（レイチェル・マクアダムス）makes this movie so likable and cute with her spunky optimism and always-on attitude, and the banter between Harrison Ford（ハリソン・フォード） and Diane Keaton（ダイアン・キートン） is a must see.

The story is kind of limited as in most musicals because of the large amount of time spent in song, but visually, the film is amazing. It focuses on Guido Contini as a famous movie director in Italy in 1965. He is having troubles developing his new films, and in his journey to make his next film, he is having marital problems along with mistress problems. He actually has lots of problems. And the most gorgeous feature of this film should be the female cast. His wife, Marion Cotillard（マリオン・コティヤール）, his mistress, Penélope Cruz（ペネロペ・クルス）, his costume designer, Judi Dench（ジュディ・デンチ）, a fashion designer, Kate Hudson（ケイト・ハドソン）, his muse, Nicole Kidman（ニコール・キッドマン）, and his mother, Sophia Loren（ソフィア・ローレン）. They brought emotion and life to the story through their singing and their exquisite moves. All of them perform superbly.
