"Let's Learn Carrot" has been published with my translation this week. The author, being familiar with communal and educational activities and bibliotherapy, leads projects and workshops integrated with art. She has written lots of artistic and educational books, and in this "Let's Learn" series, she aims to expose the readers to a second language in an easy and fun way. English speakers will learn a few Japanese words. Japanese speakers will also learn a few English words and easy sentences that will give the feel of the beautiful sound of rhymes. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this adorable series which is suitable for both children and adults of all ages both in English and Japanese.

Terry Treetop and the Christmas Star テリー･ツリートップとクリスマス･スター

"Terry Treetop and the Christmas Star" with my translation has been published this month. It features Terry Treetop, a red-headed, freckled young boy who loves to climb trees. Christmas is in the air, and Terry is busy getting his family’s Christmas tree ready with his Dad when he notices a small, helpless creature in danger. Terry runs out into the deep snow and puts his famous tree-climbing talents into play. Will he be able to save little Sammy and then enjoy Christmas with a furry new friend? I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this charming picture book which shows children that reaching out to help others is an important part of the Christmas spirit both in English and Japanese.

"I Know Where the Sun’s House Is" with my translation has been published this month. The author, being a math teacher for 35 years in high school, also a mother of four children and grandmother of seven grandchildren, has written a lot of books for which she has taken advantage of her years of experience as a teacher and her rich experience with her children and grandchildren. In this adorable gem, she introduces our planet Earth, its orbit, the sun, and the other planets that make up the solar system in an easy-to-follow format even for small children. Those new picture books I translated have been available at Tsuda University Alumnae Association. Thanks to one of our alumnae, Ms. Mayumi Mori, "Gallery Cafe George" owner, our books joined a radio "Kyodo Inko Weekly" hosted by Ms. Yuuka Higashi (a voice actress) and Naoko Imamura (a musician). Also, our university's independent forum, Translators' Network's members have enjoyed using those books for their regular read-aloud sessions. Many many thanks. I really appreciate such beautiful opportunities. This book is the sequel to "Ellie, The ADHD SuperGirl", which deals with Ellie's coping with ADHD. The purpose of this story is to shed light on the coping of an ADHD child in school, and also to provide tools for coping with such a child, for teachers and parents. 今週、翻訳いたしました『ねこの ペコペコくん: バッグに なにを いれれば いいかな？』が出版されました。著者は社会や教育的活動、ビブリオセラピー（読書療法）に精通したアーティストで、アートと一体化させたプロジェクトやワークショップの指導者です。著書には芸術性や教育性の高いものが多く、この「ねこのペコペコくん」シリーズでは、子供たちを異なる文化や課題に触れさせ、自分で考えたり、イマジネーションを用いたりしながら学べるよう導いています。英語と日本語のバイリンガルで子供も大人もお楽しみいただければ幸甚です。

Peko-Peko the Cat Loves to Travel ねこの ペコペコくんは りょこうが だいすき

"Peko-Peko the Cat Loves to Travel" has been published with my translation this week. The author is an artist who is familiar with communal and educational activities and bibliotherapy, and leads projects and workshops integrated with art. She has written lots of artistic and educational books, and in this "Peko-Peko the Cat" series, she leads children to enjoy learning while thinking and using their own imagination by exposing them to different cultures and challenges. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this book both in English and Japanese.

Those new picture books published with my translation have also been available at Hamamatsu Municipal Library in Shizuoka, at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Many many thanks. Hope the library patrons, especially the ones who are in the middle of child-raising, engaged in basic English or Japanese education, will enjoy them, and the books will meet lots of new friends near No.1 mountain in Japan as well.

Those picture books I translated last year have also been available at IKUEI University／Junior College Library. Prof. Norio Osako, who lectures in the department of early childhood education and care, gave us this wonderful opportunity. Many many thanks. The Best Witch in the World せかいじゅうで サイコーな ウィッチ

"The Best Witch in the World" has been published with my translation this week. The author, being familiar with communal and educational activities and bibliotherapy, leads projects and workshops integrated with art. She believes that there are ways to change bad ideas and thoughts, and asks children to help her believe in magical power. She has written lots of artistic and educational books, and in this book, she challenges children to use their imagination and creativity in order to help good witches. You are most welcome to challenge your children and see how magic happens. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this book both in English and Japanese.
