The Great Gatsby 華麗なるギャツビー

This is one of the most beautiful films to fill a movie screen. It might be true that the movie fails the book by F. Scott Fitzgerald（Ｆ・スコット・フィッツジェラルド）. It isn't a perfect adaptation, but there are no overwhelming flaws, and it follows the book very faithfully. Robert Redford（ロバート・レッドフォード） gives his best performance. He is Gatsby（ギャツビー） in every aspect ： handsome, mysterious, courteous, sometimes pessimistic, and very lonely. I think Mia Farrow（ミア・ファロー） gives an excellent performance, yet as I watch the movie I can't help imagining Faye Dunaway（フェイ・ダナウェイ） doing it better.
