The Hours めぐりあう時間たち

Starring three of today's most popular leading actresses, Nicole Kidman（ニコール・キッドマン）, Julianne Moore（ジュリアン・ムーア）, and Meryl Streep（メリル・ストリープ）, winner of some Golden Globe awards, based on a Pulitzer（ピュリッツァー）Prize winning novel, I think "The Hours" is a film that appeals to lots of people. There is no doubt in my mind that "The Hours" is a great film, but I only recommend it to people who are up to the challenge of thinking about the film long after they have finished the film and deciding about what it means. It isn't an easy film or a film for everybody, but I think it's worth the effort.

The Color Purple カラーパープル

The movie version of Alice Walker（アリス・ウォーカー）'s emotive and influential novel was a massive Oscar success. Whoopi Goldberg（ウーピー・ゴールドバーグ ） gave her wonderful screen performance. Others in the cast also fleshed out the characters so clearly. I must appreciate Steven Spielberg（スティーヴン・スピルバーグ）'s talents. "The Color Purple" is a story about incredible hardships but also a story of how love and forgiveness can redeem.

This movie will make you reexamine your own life and think about what is really important and meaningful for you, what is success and happiness. Nicolas Cage（ニコラス・ケイジ）, a young dreamer with his successful career, finds out that "Love" might be the most important. Nicolas Cage（ニコラス・ケイジ）provides an amazing and comical performance in character, from the aggressive businessman to a loving father & husband with his charming sense of humor.
