University Reunion 大学同窓会

I joined my university reunion (Shonan, Kanagawa Branch) this weekend though I live in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. With our celestial, strong and pliant alumnae who have been successful in their own fields since graduation at "Kamakura Prince Hotel". The alumni guest, Ms. Masayo Koike, gave us a lecture on her beautiful poems and shared her wonderful works with us, and we really appreciate it. Our socially-conscious alumnae, thank you so much for such a valuable time. I learned how to deal with male-dominated society, and how to live wisely in a very enjoyable way. Wishing all our alumnae's continued success and prosperity.

Pawn Sacrifice 完全なるチェックメイト

This is based on the real life of chess legend Bobby Fischer who, after becoming a world champion, lived a secluded, solitary life possibly because of a mental illness which made him paranoid. What's more is that we see the paranoiac side of Bobby Fischer（ボビー・フィッシャー）, a treat to see Tobby Maguire（トビー・マグワイア）portraying him. Although there is not much physical resemblance between Maguire and Bobby Fischer, but it is compensated by his award-worthy performance.

High School Reunion 高校同窓会

Lucy the Cat Sushi Time ねこのルーシー おすしの じかん

"Lucy the Cat Sushi Time" was published with my translation last week. This is a picture book written from such an adorable cat (Sacred Birman), Lucy's point of view with lots of humor. Lucy tells us her favorite dishes in the 6th series. We can enjoy the fine playful mind of the author who used to live in Japan as well. I sincerely hope both children and adults will enjoy this very charming Lucy's world both in English and in Japanese.

Woman in Gold 黄金のアデーレ 名画の帰還

"The Woman in Gold" is based on the true story about a woman, Maria Altmann and her lawyer, Randol Schoenberg, as they attempt to reclaim ownership of an extremely valuable painting form the Austrian government nearly fifty years after it was stolen by the Nazis. There are many thrilling scenes and heart wrenching moments that really add to the film. Helen Mirren（ヘレン・ミレン）was subtle and amazing, and there was great chemistry between her and Ryan Reynolds（ライアン・レイノルズ） which made their characters' connection even more compelling.
