Most people feel boredom and discomfort at some point in their lives, and when they are alone with their pains and forced to embrace them, their agonies start evolving. And it gets harder to achieve every day for them as tons of things start distracting them from their lives. A Hollywood actor, Johnny Marco played by Stephen Dorff（スティーヴン・ドーフ）, is slowly becoming numb to life, but prevented from realizing it, which is his biggest misfortune. The film depicts a truly believable feeling of a man who realizes something is wrong but lacks in self understanding to get what it really is. The movie is slow pace, quite, and there are scenes with long cuts, and sometimes there is nothing going on for a few minutes, but this approach and direction by Sofia Coppola（ソフィア・コッポラ）were effective in conveying the despair, loneliness and boredom of Jonny Marco.
