Martin Blaine has been less than successful as a special effects makeup artist, and is getting into therapy on his girlfriend's recommendation. During his session, he saw his mother pass away under mysterious circumstances, which was a prophetic dream. On the next day, he got disturbing news, and returns to his hometown. Before long, people begin to drop dead, brutally torn apart by what appears to be a predatory monster. Not only the local sheriff but also Martin himself start to believe that Martin is somehow responsible since all of the victims are connected to him and that his inner demon made all of those monsters.
